David grew up in Orlando, Florida in the Conway area.  Growing up he always wanted to take anything mechanical apart to see how it worked.  In middle school, David took a small engine class and being repairing all of the neighbors’ lawnmowers in a small shed in his parent’s backyard.  When he was older he worked for a wrecker service and the neighborhood Mobil station, where both owners were very customer driven.  When David was out of school, he started to work at a dealership and continued to work for Central Florida Dealerships for over 20 years.  David always wanted to open his own shop because he felt that customers at the dealership did not get the customer service that they paid for.  In July 2010 he opened a shop and accomplished a childhood dream of owning his own business.  David has achieved the highest Ford and ASE certifications in the automotive business.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and two boys.

Melanie Griffis

Melanie retired from her career as a professional housewife to work for the family business. She has also worked in banking and managed several grocery stores.

Denver Griffis

Denver is 12 years old and is competing in tournaments around Florida in Martial Arts.  He is currently pum belt and is in the Black Belt Club at Clermont Family Martial Arts. In his spare time, Denver loves fishing and playing football.

Matt S AboutMatt Shearouse

Working side by side with his grandfather in their Gainesville, Florida garage, Matt Shearouse’s automotive education began at the young age of seven.  It was his grandfather, Benny that worked with Matt each and every day, endowing him with the necessary skills to become the veteran technician that is today.  This time together provided the foundation for Matt’s commitment to customer service, and molded him into the successful leader that he is today, both professionally and in the community.
As a sophomore at South Lake High School in Groveland, Florida, Matt began his profession career in Bob Wade Ford’s Service Department working every day after school.  He continued to work for this same dealership through his senior year of high school.  As a senior at South Lake, Matt was a honors student, dual-enrolled in college classes, and a participant in the Ford ASSET Program.  Upon graduation from South Lake High School, he went on to attend Seminole Community College as a full time student and maintained a full time job at the dealership.  Matt graduated with an Associates of Science in Applied Automotive Technologies degree and completed the Ford ASSET Program.  In 2003, as an employee of Rolling Hills Ford in Clermont, Matt completed his Ford Senior Master Certification, and also became ASE Senior Master Certified.  Both of these designations are the highest achievable in the automotive repair industry.
Matt continued to work as a technician and shop foreman for Ford of Clermont, until leaving in 2011 to join the Griffis Automotive Team.

Jake Scott

Jake started in the automotive business in 1999 while still attending high school.  He worked at a friends shop until 2000 and then went to work at Nick Nicholas Ford in Inverness, Florida.  In 2002 Jake left Nick Nicholas  and began working at Rolling Hills Ford, presently Ford of Clermont.  Jake met David when he worked at Rolling Hills Ford. He returned to  Nick Nicholas Ford in 2010. Jake stayed in touch with David and began working at Griffis Automotive Clinic in 2012. He is Chassis Master Technician and gas and diesel engine master technician.
He and his wife, Ashley, have three children Nolin, Khale, and Lauryn. Ashley is an X-ray technician in Leesburg. We enjoy spending time together playing games and watching movies.  In his spare time he plays golf, work on cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  He also enjoys woodworking.

Brian Griffis

Brian is David and Melanie’s eldest son. He has grown up around the automotive business. When he was younger he would often help his father with late night projects. When his parents first opened the business he worked down in shop doing scheduled maintenance and diesel repairs. During this time Brian also attended night classes at Lake Sumter State College working towards a degree in business. Brian now works full time for them and is a service writer in the office. He is married to his High School sweet heart Jordan. He enjoys spending time with his wife and friends. He also enjoys going hunting and fishing.

Alex has been a part of the Griffis Automotive team since 2013. At 10 years old. he began tinkering on vehilces and decided to persue a career in the automotive industry. Alex graduated with top honors from Seminole State college in the automotive program. Currently Alex is enrolled in college for a degree in robotics and mechatronics. In his spare time, Alex enjoys rebuilding vehicles to increase their performance.

Jimpier Figeroa (JP)

JP has been a part of the Griffis Automotive Clinic team since 2013, bringing 5 years of automotive experience. Being able to work as an automotive technician was a dream come true. His passion for vehicles began when he was a young child watching his father customize and repair vehicles. JP graduated from the University Technical Institute in Orlando, Florida. When not at work, JP enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Andrew Card

Andrew became a part of the Griffis Autmotive Clinic team in 2015. He was born and raised in New York. Andrew’s passion for helping people with their vehicles began at a young age while working alongside his father with repairs. Since moving to Florida, Andrew enjoys being able to ride his motorcycle year round.

sydney AboutSydney Padgett

Sydney became a part of the Griffis Automotive Clinic team in June of 2014. Sydney was born and raised in Lake county. She is a busy bee in the office, answering the phones, cleaning, and making invoices. Sydney loves to go the beach and spend her free time in the sun. She hopes in the future to become a registered nurse or CPA.
