DAVID AND MELANIE GRIFFIS

Owners

David

David grew up in Orlando, Florida in the Conway area. Growing up he always wanted to take anything mechanical apart to see how it worked. In middle school, David took a small engine class and began repairing all of the neighbors’ lawnmowers in a small shed in his parent’s backyard. When he was older he worked for a wrecker service and the neighborhood Mobil station, where both owners were very customer-driven. When David was out of school, he started to work at a dealership and continued to work for Central Florida Dealerships for over 20 years. David always wanted to open his own shop because he felt that customers at the dealership did not get the customer service that they paid for. In July 2010 he opened a shop and accomplished a childhood dream of owning his own business. David has achieved the highest Ford and ASE certifications in the automotive business. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and two boys.

Melanie

Melanie retired from her career as a professional housewife to work for the family business. She has also worked in banking and managed several grocery stores. Now, she is a fulltime nanny to 2 grand kids!

BRIAN GRIFFIS

Manager

Brian is David and Melanies oldest son. He has been here since day the beginning. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids. He also enjoys being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Denver Griffis

Position

Denver competes in tournaments around Florida in Martial Arts. He is currently pum belt and is in the Black Belt Club at Clermont Family Martial Arts. In his spare time, Denver loves fishing and playing football.

Stephanie Rippel

Administration

Stephanie was raised in Reading, PA. She moved to Florida in 2008. Stephanies favorite thing to do outside of work would be spending time with her kids at the beach.

Sherwin Pugh

Service Writer

When he’s not working, he loves spending time with his family, watching sports and eating chicken wings.

Julia Stravino

Administration

Favorite thing to do out of work is spend time with my family , go to concerts and travel when I can. I have 2 daughters Cheyenne and Peyton. I am most proud of myself for becoming more independent and learning new things. If I didn’t have this job. my dream job would be working with animals. Sloths are my most favorite animal. I am very thankful to have become of the Griffis family!

Jake Scott

Tech

Jake started in the automotive business in 1999 while still attending high school. He worked at a friend’s shop until 2000 and then went to work at Nick Nicholas Ford in Inverness, Florida. In 2002 Jake left Nick Nicholas and began working at Rolling Hills Ford, presently Ford of Clermont. Jake met David when he worked at Rolling Hills Ford. He returned to Nick Nicholas Ford in 2010. Jake stayed in touch with David and began working at Griffis Automotive Clinic in 2012. He is a Chassis Master Technician and gas and diesel engine master technician. He and his wife, Ashley, have three children Nolin, Khale, and Lauryn. Ashley is an X-ray technician in Leesburg. We enjoy spending time together playing games and watching movies. In his spare time, he plays golf, works on cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He also enjoys woodworking.

Daniel Valdes

Tech

Born and raised in Florida, Danny grew up tinkering on learning how to work on cars with his Dad. He graduated from UTI in 2013. He worked at a GM dealership 8 years and decided to try a local shop that was closer to home. When he’s not working, he stays busy paddle boarding, biking and riding his motorcycles or playing with his dog.

Luke McMunn

Tech

Luke got his degree in automotive technology from Seminole State College. In his free time, he likes to go to concerts and go camping.

Luis Alves

Tech

Luis has been repairing vehicles professionally for over 15 years & is one of our Master Certified Technicians. He is an avid fisherman & outdoorsman. Luis has traveled the globe in search of the perfect fish. He truly enjoys experiencing other cultures & trying to explore as much of the planet as he can. Luis attributes his success in the automotive repair industry to his “never stop learning” approach & tries to learn something from every person he encounters. If he is not out on the water, you can find him hiking or camping & trying to soak up all mother nature has to offer. Even in today’s busy world, he will always find time to help someone in need. Luis’ attitude & experience make him a wonderful addition to our team.
